Felix Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" needs little or no introduction for many people in the English speaking Western World as a it is commonly used during wedding ceremonies. Mendelssohn wrote the piece as incidental music for Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream in 1842. Generally only part of the composition is played at weddings and it is usually played on a church pipe organ.
