This version is played on its modern ancestor - the classical guitar. Written by Pierre Attaingnant in Paris 1529 Gaillarde is a lively and positive example of early Renaissance dance music.

Pierre Attaingnant (1494-1551) was a French music printer, publisher,bookseller and composer. Instrumental in publishing many French composers of his period, Attaingnant perhaps published more than fifty collections of the new style compositions, Chansons. Little is attributed to his compositions but it is known that Attaingnant developed a new music printing process which for all its design faults became the preferred method for printing music in the Renaissance period.
